On Thursday (22nd April 2021), with the great services brought to the table by LCC Screen School tech team, we did our first full on, three camera, live session webcast! This takes hybrid beyond anything we've so far done. Panopto has been a powerful tool for us on the pandemic terms, and this juts pushes it to the extremes of its possibilities. For the first time, students beaming in weren't just seeing their tutor as a grainy webcam, this was a full on 'production' that with practice will only get better and better. Having the techies run this, freeing up my headspace to just teach, at a point where I got the opportunity to teach what I'm best at in practice terms for the first time here at LCC (again ... the pandemic has opened up opportunities! We are embracing them ... and so are my Year 2 cohort! They're running up behind me all the way. Fabulous students.
As is my personality and 'way' I wasn't self conscious in the room, knowing I was being beamed out live and that it would be a recoding. But watching bits the next day I was uncomfortable at points in regard to my usual open frankness ... especially anecdotally ... and I engaged in reflection that has come about in me whilst doing PG Cert. I will aloow those reflections to be absorbed. At the same time ... I am so proud of what we're achieving as a team and with the students. Check the webcast here:-
